Taking a day for my kids

I love spending time with my babies. Just enjoying each other and in no rush. Life is so rushed. I feel we are always on the go. Rush here..rush there. We had an outing the other day and it was beautiful outside.

They truly are "friends" and siblings. They love one another so much!

Feeding the fish after lunch...although they mostly went to the seagulls.

After lunch and feeding the fish we went to the park and played.

I love having "just us" days. I love my children with all my heart and know one day they will not want to go feed the fish or go to the park's playground. I want to do all these things now because later won't matter.
We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we
forget that he/she is someone today--

Happy 4th Birthday Laila!

Four years ago on this day, August 24, I gave birth to a beautiful 6lbs 1 oz baby girl. At 1:02 p.m on August 24, 2006 I became the proud mommy to a little girl. She came into this world fighting for life and has lived up to that strong, determined, fighting personality ever since.

Laila is sweet, loving, feisty, affectionate, moody, determined, strong-willed, opinionated and beautiful. She has a personality like no other. I cant believe my baby is 4. It saddeneds me to know my children are getting older. I want to freeze time and want them to always need me. I want them to always need my attention and time.
Laila, you are my little princess and I love you so very, very much. I know with your strong-willed attitude you will make mommy proud. I love our times we have together just being girls, painting our nails, "playing Dora house", and eating ice cream with "whots and whots" of chocolate syrup. You will always be my little baby girl. always.

We had a great party with cake and presents at Fat Daddy's Pizza and Arcade in Destin. Its literaly a kids paradise. Games, pizza, ice cream, music, noise all within arms reach!

We sang Happy Birthday. Laila enjoyed seeing Aunt Stephanie, Uncle DeeJay, Grandma, and Grandpa! I think everyone had a good time and enjoyed being together.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAILA! MOMMY LOVES YOU HONEY!

He loved it....so did I! I really had a good time and while we were there we ate at this amazing Indian resturant. Devan even ate it!!!

Thank you daddy for everything...i love you very much!!!

Happy 7th Birthday Devan!!!

My baby boy...he will always be my baby. Well, he turned 7 this past week. I cant believe it. It seems just like yesterday I was laying in a hospital room holding my precious little 5lb 14oz baby. On August 5, 2003 @ 1:18 p.m. my life was forever changed. I am in awe at seeing that baby grown up into a little boy. Devan is such a warm, kind-hearted, and sensitive child. He has such a wonderful spirit and gentle heart. He truly is the sweetest little boy I know! He is "all boy" loves to get dirty and play in water.
I love you Devan more than words and I could never imagine my life without you. You make mommy so proud of the sweet little boy you are.

We had a party for Devan....He loved seeing his cousins and going bowling!

Also this year on August 5th marked not only Devan's birthday but the first day of school!

This year Devan is going to be in 1st grade again. He struggled the last half of the school year last year. After many talks with the guidance counselor and teacher, it was decided it would benefit him greatly to learn it one more time.

Not only did Devan start school, Laila started VPK! (I'm going to be a basket case next year when she starts Kindergarten!) Laila loved it. She follows in Devan's footsteps so much. She wanted to do what Devan does. I got her a backpack and "school supplies" and took her to daycare, where in a separate classroom VPK is held from 830-1130. She is growing up so fast it makes me sad.

Here are some pics of the first day....

I am looking forward to a great school year for Devan and hoping to survive Laila in VPK. Laila will be having her birthday ina few weeks...she will be 4!!!

The happenings of Me and the kids

We have been M.I.A. for the last few weeks. Busy, busy, busy. I have managed to take pictures along the way though.

Devan has just finished 3 weeks of intense summer school and just in time for school to start in 1 1/2 weeks! I cant believe the summer is already over! Wow! He is getting so big and so much older acting it really makes me sad. I hardly think about him turning 7 in a few days without it bringing tears to my eyes.

We went to Grandmas and Grandpas house and ate cupcakes.

We played in the sprinklers at grandma and grandpas. This Florida heat is miserable at times! Heat index 105 degrees some days!

Sprinklers def cool you off and wears them out!!!! (LOL)

We also had another run in with the local fire department. Grandpa got the oil too hot on the deep fryer and the garage filled up with smoke! Devan and Laila thought it was the coolest thing. It was kinda funny and no one was hurt!

We went to the Destin Commons and the kids ran through the water and played on the playground after we went and saw Despicable Me in 3D at the commons. It was such a good movie

We also went to McDonalds Playland. Laila is such a social butterfly and a flirt. I dont even know this little boy but he was hooked to Laila the whole time. When it was time to leave he started walking to my car!!!!! ( I never did find out where HIS mom was!)

My babies. They played so good together at McD's

Laila said, "Mom, let me show you how I can make a crazy face that you will love so much!"

I caught the kids having a kiddie conversation outside on mom adn dads deck. I snapped the picture from inside through the window! I have no idea what they were talking about.

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend isnt just about getting a 3 day weekend. It's about remembering all the military who have fought for our country. My dad is a "hero" in every since of the word. He proudly served the United States Air Force for 30 years! I am so proud to call him my dad. He is an honorable, wise, and caring man. He is a remarkable grandfather to two grandchildren who love him so much. Thanks dad/grandpa for your service to America and the wonderful job who have done and continue to do as a dad and grandpa!
Along with all of the men and women who have served our great country I will not forget what it has taken for us to walk in the "...land of the free..." this Memorial Day weekend.

While enjoying this weekend with my babies we went to the beach, to lunch at Chili's, then today we went to the movies and ate watermelon in the middle of the living room floor. I have the best kids in the world, hands down, the best.

Here are pics of the weekend events.....

Not as good as I thought!

Well I am not as good as I had hoped with this blog. It really is hard to sit down and gather my thought and have some "ME" time.
There are a few pictures I would like to post over the happenings of the last couple months...

Devan at the dentist...watching Cat in the Hat on the ceiling while he waits!

It was Lailas turn and she was such a big girl! This one is Laila and her grandpa! She really loves her grandpa!!!!!!!

Devan and Laila helped me make cupcakes for Easter...the best part for them was licking the bowl afterwards!
We went to the park during Devans spring break (i took off a couple days!!!)

Laila really loved the park
Ill get better at this posting. I really want to have this as a memory for the kids! Life is hectic and before you know it months have gone by!!! The summer is coming and I have lots of pictures of the kids outdoors. They love being outside and enjoying this great Flordia weather!

Rambling...

Well I haven't been as good as I had hoped with this blog. Life is busy. Work, Devan 's homework, cook, clean, bath time, story time...well there isnt much me time. I normally go to sleep soon after the kids do.

Devan has glasses... he looks so handsome!!!!!

I still work for a dr in the area and LOVE my job. I really enjoy what I do and the people I work with. God truely does work in wonderful ways. It's truely a blessing this job was put in front of me.

Devan has lost his front two teeth! The tooth fairy came and he has said he wishes the fairy would just put a little toy under his pillow instead of money. So, I talked to the tooth fairy and she will do this next time.

The kids so enjoy their grandpa/grandma's house. They stay their one night a week and look forward to it by Saturday! Heres one of my favorite pictures....
